Info	This café with two marvelous stepped gables is located on the corner of the Brouwersgracht ('Brewers canal'!), on the edge of the Jordaan area. It dates from 1642. The story goes that there was a coffin-maker annex undertaker, that sold liquor here, as far back as around 1600, to make a bit of money on the side. That must have been in a precursor of this building however, since the construction of the houses in the Jordaan area did not start until 1612.
