shake the vermouth
for the 'shaken' enthusiast, fill a shaker with ice, dribble a small amount of vermouth in, shake it, and pour the damned vermouth down the drain. add vodka to suit number of glasses, place olives in glasses, shake again, and pour over the olives - PERFECTION IN A GLASS
Put The Plane In The Hangar
By far the best new Vodka is Hangar 1. Smooooth and tasty. Give it a try in your favorite tini.
Clean and Classic.... you can't beat it!!!
This is what started my obessesion with martinis. Usually, you only see rich old men sipping on these. A friend of mine recommended it, and I never looked back!!
Was a GREAT tip!
I have loved martinis for years, but a very wealthy friend recently told me that the best martini was to place a pc. of ice in the glass with the olive and(or) onion and then let it perform it's magic(5 min.) and then consume. What do you think of this? This man consumes at least a half gallon of fine vodka a day(Russian Charidie or Kettle One).
A twist
Swish about 1/2 oz of dry vermouth in a chilled glass & dump it out. Take vodka from freezer & pour in about 1.5 oz (maybe a little more if it's been a long day). Add about 1/2 oz chilled water (depending on how strong you like them). Add one or two martini olives (packed in a vermouth and sea-salt brine), or a lemon twist. I use M&R vermouth and either Ketel One or Stoli Krystal vodka. The olives are from the Santa Barbara Olive Co.
axe the vermouth!
Axe the vermouth, top-shelf vodka only (I recommend any of the polish potato, Grey Goose or Three Olives)-rinse the glass with 12 year old scotch and SHAKE it-garnish with olive-enjoy
Bison Vodka
The only thing which could make this recipe better is Zubrowka Bison Vodka. If you get a chance, try it! Smoooooooooth.
Freeze those olives!
Your favorite vodka, the amount of vermouth that suits your taste, shaken in crystal clear store-bought ice ( not the cloudy refrigerator stuff ); poured into a pre-chilled martini glass and garnished with olives frozen for several hours. Those olives keep that straight-up beauty cold for longer, making pleasurable sipping to the last drop!!!
