 | | An open bottle of vermouth should not be kept for more than a few months as it will quickly lose most of its flavour. | | |

| Visitor Reviews | Nice try, but a not so little mistake Negroni is: 1/3 Gin, 1/3 Bitter Campari, 1/3 sweet red vermouth (Martini Rosso for example). You can add a splash of soda if you want. Garnishes can be made either with half orange slice or a lemon peel. | Also in Genoa I was in Genoa when I had this martini. I love Campari and I love gin. You can imagine my surprise when I discovered the combination of the two. It was absolutely divine. So was the waiter.
We had this with only the gin and the Campari. | Lemon is better than Orange Dear Mr. L-Mer(de),
if you are an expert on taste like me, you should know that combining bitterness with another flavour must always be Lemon, because sweet (Orange)and/or salt and bitter are opposite of eachother and because fysically seen, the parts for tasting bitter and sour on each of us his tongue are lying parallel.
There can be no discussion about it anymore.
This is a fact, my friends. | Orange or lemonslice I am afraid,Martin,that in the original way(and tastier)of adding a slice of fruit in a drink,in this particular case;
"La Negroni",the orange-juice is preferred above lemon. The sweeter taste of the orange-juice is better in combination with all the bitterness than a slice of lemon in this. | sergi , martyn please !! Please don't fight over this exquisite drink.
It doesn't really matter what kind of juicy slice
you put in to it. I invite you both to come to
"Fier", drink a few and talk about soccer.
Greetings oscar | Very true dear Sergio, but you made a piccolo mistake Hello my little Italian friend. Nice of you to add some words, but I have to correct you,
because it is not a real juicy orange, but a fresh slice of juicy lemon. If you don't believe me, try it! | Negroni as they use to do in Milano It is true that this recipe is very popular in Milano but I would like to add that the very real and I would dare historical way to prepare is to mix gin and BITTER AND THEN RED MARTINI together with a slice of real juicy orange. | Add your own review |
