Nice to see someone who appreciates what a true, classic martini really is.
The brand of gin is an individual choice, but may I suggest trying it stirred instead of shaken. Stirring causes less dilution of the ice keeping the flavor of your gin more distinct. Also, stirring the mixture 51 times in a counter clockwise rotation will bring the temperature of the liquid to the same level as when shaken. And, there aren't any ice crystals floating on top to numb my tongue.

Super-chilled Beefeater's gin does no harm to this recipe. Shake the martini until frost forms on the shaker. | Simply magnificent
