Hmmmmmm As great a drink as this really is, it's not a Dean Martini. The Dean Martini wa created at The Copa Lounge at the Sands Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada circa 1950.
It's a vodka martini stirred with 10ml of red vermouth and garnished with an orange wheel. Dean's preferred garnish was a pack of Lucky's, but i think the orange works better! |
I call this Loud Mouth Soup! This kind of "Martini" without Vermouth is desert dry, and can't sneak up on you unless you have really smooth Vodka. Add multiple olives & I call that "dinner"! |
Just as I like it I add a bit of the olive juice, a "Muddy Dean"!!! |
I agree with James I agree with James...let's call this what it IS...a shot with an olive....
No martini here! |
This is NOT a Martini Comon folks, you all know a REAL Martini contains vermouth. This should be called Vodka straight. And as far as I'm concerned a true Martini is made with Gin and not Vodka. Hate to sound like a snob but so be it. |
Why not just call this a shot of Vodka?? Why bother calling this a martini??? |
Liquid Perfection! This drink is liquid perfection. And the Continental is the best place to drink it as well! |
Perfection This is my FAVORITE way to have a martini. I like it with about 3 olives, but the Ketel One is definitely the best.
I never knew my drink had a name until now. |
